Am I ridiculous?

One obvious worry I have as an expectant mother is the health of my baby. Is it ridiculous that I requested all family members (on both sides) who would be within baby range before his 3 month mark get their DTaP? Or that I am considering getting him a baby mask to wear while flying to Utah for Christmas (recirculated air in December, no thank you!)? I want my kiddo to be healthy. My friend at work sent this photo below to be funny, but when I saw it I thought, "That's a great idea!" does this make me a little overboard?

Girl, I do not think you are ridiculous. Rob and I have tried to be so careful with Fara in the past 4 weeks, and even so she still just yesterday became all congested. It is NOT fun staying up all night with your baby making sure she can breathe! If anyone gives me any grief about being overprotective or whatever, I will probably lose it! It's a good thing there's no way to track down who babies get sick from, because I would be really ticked off at that person right now... probably because I didn't sleep at all last night! Sorry for the rant but there you have it.

You're not going overboard. I can totally relate. I flew with Henry when he was 6 weeks old and I was so paranoid and kind of a mess a few days before we left. He did end up getting a cold while we were in UT but I was just grateful it was nothing worse. Good Luck!

You're totally not crazy! I HATED cold season when L was born. I didn't even go to church for the first couple months after she was born because of germs!
And I've totally seen those signs for the carseat for sale on like etsy or something. Better safe than sorry. Pertusis is nothing to joke about! I even got my booster dTap, though L was so many months old just to be sure!

Oh my gosh no. Most of us wouldn't actually REQUEST it but many of us baby-germo-phobes wish that we had!!!

Get the baby mask. That's a great idea. You have no idea how much influenza is going around. Did you know that the main carrier of the flu is kids? Kids aren't going to be covering when they cough and sneeze. Keep up the hard work lady.
