Hot Town Summer in the city..

I have been really good about not complaining about the Arizona heat, ask anyone.  I am keeping my complaints to myself because let's face it, I knew what I was getting into when I moved here.  That being said, this in not a complaint, just an observation.
Today was an exceptionally hot day.  I went to Costco and Walmart and then home to unload the groceries.  Usually Sam carries our stuff in from the car while I unload everything but today I did it all solo (Sam has unofficially moved into the library) and oh my word it was just so stinking hot!  And honestly all I kept think was how I felt so sorry for the women who have small kids who are running errands without their husbands, in this heat, with children who are also miserable in this heat.

I also found a nice little weather warning on yahoo weather referring to Glendale:

AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM MST SUNDAY.

STRONG HIGH PRESSURE WILL BE CENTERED OVER THE AREA THROUGH SUNDAY...

AND THE AIRMASS WILL REMAIN QUITE DRY. THIS WILL RESULT IN CONTINUED

VERY HOT TEMPERATURES ON SUNDAY RANGING FROM 108 TO 114 DEGREES.

THESE TEMPERATURES ARE 8 TO 11 DEGREES ABOVE LATE-AUGUST NORMALS.

IN ADDITION...EVEN THE NIGHTTIME HOURS WILL PROVIDE LITTLE RELIEF...

ESPECIALLY NEAR CITY CENTERS...WHERE LOW TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED IN

THE MID 80S.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

EXPOSURE TO EXTREME HEAT CAN BE UNHEALTHY AND DANGEROUS. IT WOULD BE

WISE TO COMPLETE ANY NECESSARY OUTDOOR ACTIVITY IN THE EARLY MORNING

WHEN THE SUN AND HEAT ARE LESS INTENSE. IF YOU PLAN TO BE OUTSIDE FOR

AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME...STAY IN THE SHADE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE

AND DRINK ABUNDANT AMOUNTS OF WATER. WEAR LIGHT-COLORED AND LOOSE-

FITTING CLOTHING...IN ADDITION TO A WIDE-BRIMMED HAT...YOUR HEAD AND

BODY WILL BE MUCH COOLER. IF AT ALL POSSIBLE...TRY TO SPEND MORE TIME

IN AIR-CONDITIONED OR WELL-VENTILATED PLACES

Woah... intense! You've got us beat. Did you know Dallas is a good place to live? Way to go on the positive attitude... I don't think I'd do as well.

Truely you have a great attitude about it. I should know since if you were going to complain it would most likely be to me ;) that being said, there are no words to express my dislike of extreme weather. Just: Uugh! Please don't try to hike or jog in that! Xo
